My name is Daniel Reimer and along with my wife Larissa and together with our three children we have been in pastoral ministry in Rostock, Germany for the past fifteen years.

Over the years, we have experienced several new discoveries that have proved pivotal in our aim of building a church according to the model of the New Testament.
New discoveries for us have been preceded by a growing dissatisfaction with the current status quo; the latest discovery came post covid after a season of unsatisfying: spiritual growth, personal steps of faith and mission being so rare that you completely miss them in everyday church life.
We were looking for other models that would put the life of a church on a different footing. Our keywords were more discipleship, more mission, more Jesus!
During this time, we got to know the work of Canvas Network and after a few conversations we began to realise that there were so many similarities between what we were looking for and what they were living. We have now been working closely together for almost three years and our community is discovering a whole new path. What we are finding on this path is exactly what we were looking for: more discipleship, more mission, more Jesus.
Three things we are experiencing in this paradigm shift are;
We emphasise the small or micro, missional small group, small beginnings in mission and discipleship.
Discipleship has become practical. rather than simply a Sunday event, but personal, embracing worship, community and mission.
We see our neighborhood as the place that can be reached more with small, missional groups along with all the larger evangelistic campaigns.
For me as a pastor, one thing is obvious: the ministry of our church has been given a new direction and I am thrilled that I am discovering the thread of the New Testament in it more than ever before.
