What Does Worship Look Like Around the Table?

This is where Microchurch becomes particularly significant.

Our Microchurches can express worship in many different ways, and one of those ways is prayer.

Prayer is the place where He captures our hearts, where we listen for His voice and become aware of His Presence.

A Neighborhood Gathering can become a place where people do not simply meet together, but pray together, intimately and honestly, with people with whom they have built genuine relationships.

Worship can also happen when we open Scripture together.

As we study the Bible, we discover not only what God has done and His supernatural activity, but also His ways, who He is, what He desires and how He is inviting us to live.

And then there is the table.

Jesus gives us a beautiful picture of this relational invitation:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

There is something wonderfully ordinary about the picture Jesus gives us.

A door. A voice. An invitation. A meal.

Yet within that ordinary picture is an extraordinary invitation to relationship.

Learning to Hear His Voice Together

When we commit to expressing worship in and through our Microchurches, we begin to discover rhythms that shape our life together.

And perhaps that is where some important questions begin.

How might we hear His voice together?

How can we become so close to Him that we begin to sense His desire for us?

What rhythms could we practise together?

What personal and communal rhythms might help us open the door wider to God's presence and activity in our lives?

And finally:

How might we experience the richness of sharing a meal with Him?

A meal that enriches and satisfies us. A meal that becomes so meaningful that His presence is undeniable.

When Worship Becomes a Way of Life

The goal is not simply to create more opportunities to sing.

It is to become a people whose whole lives are turned towards God.

People who pray together.

People who listen together.

People who open Scripture together.

People who eat together.

People who love one another.

And people who allow that love to overflow into the neighbourhoods and communities around them.

This is where worship, community and mission begin to make sense as one beautiful rhythm.

Worship draws our hearts towards God.

Community teaches us to love one another.

Mission sends that love beyond ourselves.

And around the table, in prayer, in Scripture and in everyday life, we discover that worship was never meant to be confined to a song.

It was always meant to become a way of life.
