Calling Lab is such a great opportunity for us to engage with the community and help people discover who God created them to be at the core of themselves. It’s also a space to explore how to use who God made them to be in order to make an impact in their own communities.
I love sharing stories in the context of Calling Lab; stories of how God has used it in our own family to impact our neighbors, co-workers, and friends. These stories often light people up and help them reflect on their own role in Kingdom work and how it can be lived out in the everyday stuff of life.
Like a laboratory experiment, Calling Lab encourages people to think beyond what they’ve always been taught is possible, and to consider God holistically from every angle of their life. It helps people realize that they can have daily impact in all areas of life, not just on a Sunday in a specific church or ministry.
God calls us all to make disciples who make disciples, and to bring His life and Word to all the world. Some of that world will never be reached inside a church building on a Sunday, or through an outreach program but it may just happen on a driveway around a fire pit, in a home during a meal, or at a kids’ sporting event.
God is moving in, through, and all around us. We are responsible to take part in what He’s doing not just as bystanders or spectators. Calling Lab is one way we invite people to encounter God in a fresh and exciting way, opening up new possibilities for how to live out their calling.
